Can Ritalin reduce anxiety if you add?

I am diagnosed with mild form of ADD and anxiety disorder. I was on Ritalin for about 3 years, I smoked too much weed and after smoking for a while, I developed the disorder anxiety. So I stop doing drugs, even my medication and now I still have anxiety. I am cons anxiety pills today but would it be worth taking Ritalin? Can it help my ADD and reduce anxiety?

Personally, I hate the stuff. I found Adderall to be more effective and have fewer side effects. Vivanse is a new drug that is similar to Adderall, but have not had personal experience with. Ritalin affects the brain the same way as cocaine and did not duration of Adderall, which leads to an acute dosing and serious crash which is unbearable, largely due to anxiety and feelings of depression (these disappear after stopping the drug). So if you have the anxiety I would advise against Ritalin and ask to your doctor about your options as far as control of your ad. Beware of stimulant drugs although they have their good sides, but create addictive and can lead you on a road you wish you had not taken and can cause anxiety, even with anti-anxiety traditional (ie Valium, Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, etc.) For what it's worth, I have been on various anti-anxiety medication and ADD and would not started or knowing what I'm doing now. ADD sucks … but be careful and know what you get before you are informed about drugs.
